Rita Mae Gibbons

Funeral services for Mrs. Rita Mae Gibbons, 83, of Sulphur, Louisiana will be held on Wednesday, November 17th at 10:00 am at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Father Gerry Boulanger officiating. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery, Carlyss. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 16th beginning at 8 am until 9 pm at Robison Funeral Home. A Cursillo Rosary will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday. Rita Mae Gibbons was born on February 13, 1927 in Norco, Louisiana and passed away on November 12, 2010 in Houston, Texas. She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and owned and operated Ritas House of Beauty until her health failed her. Rita was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary #179, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by all that knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Gibbons, Jr.; her parents, Rene and Agnes Guidry; 4 brothers and 2 sisters; and her grandchild, Victoria Ann Gibbons. Mrs. Gibbons is survived by 5 children: Cheryl Stokes and husband Ron of Jacksonville, Florida, George R. Gibbons and wife Marie of Sulphur, Barry Gibbons and wife Allison of Rosamond, California, Randy Gibbons and friend Donna Chaisson of Sulphur, Tommy Gibbons and wife Tina of Sulphur; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
