Robert Allen Sanders, Sr.

Robert Allen Sanders, Sr passed away on December 1, 2022, at his home peacefully. He was a resident of Sulphur, Louisiana. He was born on December 12th, 1958, in Malone, New York to Martha Willis Sanders.

Robert was well known for his joking-around and laughs, He was easy going and he loved to fish every chance he got.  He went fishing with his two brothers, Michael Sanders, A.J. Sanders, son David and wife Haley.  He also was a fisherman of man. Anyone he talked to, he would talk to them about Jesus and ask if they're saved or do they know about Jesus.  He was a deacon of House of prayers of Lufkin Texas, where he was still a member upon his death. He used to sing in the church; and brought everyone to tears or to Jesus by singing The Anchor Holds. He loved to sing many of the songs has he sang in church.  He used to love hunting and camping every year for Thanksgiving or Christmas. His mother-in-law Margie would ask him to go get her a duck for her duck dressing. He also loved getting mistletoe so he could kiss his wife as many times as he could.

His nieces remember his big bear hugs. His nieces and nephews remembered going to talk to him without judgment and he accepted them for who they were. He had many friends and family members that have  many  memories of him. They will see him with his favorite beer; which he would call the champion of beer, Miller high Life, laughing and singing to one of his favorite songs  on the radio and dancing.. He loved Queen and Journey songs.  

He was a jack of all trades.  He went to school for Maintenance and AC.  His last job was with Earl Rider Remodeling. He liked watching Football; many times, he watched it with his Father-in-law, Marvin Pipps.  He was a long time Dallas Cowboys fan, but he would always pick a team at the start of the game if Cowboys weren't playing.  He loved watching good sci-fi or action movies. He also liked watching boxing and his cowboy shows on Grit.  John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were his favorites.

He was proceeded in death by his parents AJ Sr. and Martha Sanders, his brother James Edward Sanders, his sister, Joyce, his parents-in-laws Marvin and Margie Pipps, and Nona Sedusky Vestal, his nephews, Stephen Alex Sanders and Matthew Putman, grandchild Casey Sage Sanders, and son-in-law Scott Jeffrey Grill.

 His survivors are his loving wife Karen Pipps Sanders, his  sons Joshua Robert Sanders of Colorado, Robert Allen Sanders II of Sulphur Louisiana, David Sanders and wife Haley Meche Sanders of Sulphur , Louisiana; daughters Lora Grill  Sanders Grill of Conroe Texas , Faith Alexis Rozas and husband Austin Rozas  of Lake Charles Louisiana; godchild Brittany Sanders of Lake Charles Louisiana; his sister Anita Gail Grimes and husband Mark  of Conroe Texas;  brothers Michael Anthony Sanders and wife Oretha Sanders of Lake Charles Louisiana, AJ Sanders Jr of Lake Charles Louisiana , Eric Sanders and wife  Pamela Ann Leleaux of Lake Charles Louisiana, Jennifer Sanders of Nacogdoches Texas; and grandchildren Michael Scott Grill and son Jesse of Conroe Texas, Ryan Kelly Grill of  Rhode Island, Kenzie Renee Sanders of Sulphur Louisiana, Marley Jane Sanders of Sulphur Louisiana , Nevaeh Nadine Sanders of Sulphur Louisiana,  Ezra Elec Joe Sanders of Sulphur Louisiana, Blayze, Briley, Brycelynn, Blair  Gassaway , Blayne, Aiden and Alena Rozas of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and good friends.

His memorial service will be on March 4th, 2023 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Roc Church, located at

3083 Carbide Drive Sulphur Louisiana.
