Robert Amos Myres

November 19, 1944 — April 30, 2024

Robert Myres, 79, of Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on the morning of Tuesday April 30, 2024.

Robert was a native of Freeport, Texas and longtime resident of the Lake Charles Area. Following his graduation, from LaGrange High School, he enlisted in and honorably served our nation in the United States Navy. Following his discharge from the Navy, Robert attained an associate degree in Electronics from Lee College in Baytown, Texas. He retired from the oilfield industry as an electronics technician for the Halliburton Corporation.

Preceding Robert in death are his parents, Ruben Amos and Rosemary Baker Myres; beloved wife of 48 years, Juanita W. Guidry Myres and a son, Steven Ross Myers. He leaves to cherish his memories, a son, Bobby Myres and wife, Sarah, Carencro; granddaughter, Morgan Rae Myres, Mississippi; companion and best friend, Betty Jean Wilson; sisters, Mary Richard and Alva Babineaux, all of Lake Charles as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family of the heart.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday May 4, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, concluding with a celebration of his life at 1:00 PM. Burial, with United States Navy Honors, will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
