Robert A. "Bob" Broussard 2/20/1931 - 12/5/2014 Bob quietly slipped away in his sleep, peacefully in his home from natural causes, to be received by his Lord Jesus Christ. He has been a resident of Carlyss since 1977, and resided in Lake Charles prior to that. Bob was a LSU graduate and served in the U S Coast Guard. He retired from Westlake Polymers, where he served as Quality Assurance Supervisor since 1962. His diligence, hard work and ability to accept challenges with enthusiasm as well as leadership and communication skills enabled the company to thrive. Bob received an important award of "Spotlight Employee" for a job very well done. He was a devout Christian, belonging to St. Theresa Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and gave lifelong service to the church, where he was actively involved. Bob and June spent most of their retirement years traveling and enjoying the scenery. He loved instrumental, guitar, and easy listening music. Bob was devoted to his family. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, June of Carlyss; three children, Pam Wyatt of Moss Bluff, Mike Broussard of Carlyss and Greg Broussard of Westlake; 2 grandchildren, Josh Wyatt and wife, Virginia of Lake Charles and Cory Wyatt of Moss Bluff; and a brother, Alfred Broussard and wife Shirley of Lake Charles. He was preceded in death by his 2 sons, Robert Keith and Kenneth Alan Broussard; and a brother, Andrew Richard Broussard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 10 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss with Father Joe Aquino officiating. Burial will be in Consolata Mausoleum East in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 8, 2014 from 4:30 6 P.M. with a rosary to follow at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will resume visitation on Tuesday at 8 A.M. at the funeral home until time to leave for the church.
