Robert "Bob" Earl Moss

Robert Bob Earl Moss,75, of Sulpur, passed away on April 9, 2014 in a local hospital.

Robert was a member of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He belonged to District 161 and Local Lodge 1317. He served as Local President, District President and District Business Rep for three years. Robert was a delegate for the Grand Lodge Convention, he served on the National MNPL Planning Board, and a host of many local and district committees. He served as an Executive President and Recording Secretary for Lake Charles Central Trade and Labor Council. Robert was a member of AFL-CIO serving on the executive board, Workforce Development Board, Community Service Board and was inducted into the AFL-CIO Hall of Flame in 2011. He worked at Citgo as a machinist from 7-9-1970 till 11-1-2004, chaired the Citgo United Way Campaign, and on a host of many other committees and boards. Robert was raised at the Sulphur Mines and had many hobbies, but enjoyed politics and all his union duties.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Connie Moss of Sulphur; son, Bradley Moss and wife, Carly of Sulphur; 2 sisters, Jackie Abraham and Judy Little and husband, Jerry all of Sulphur; his loving dog, Cassie; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parent, Marvin and Dondena Moss; and a daughter, Denise Moss.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 4-9 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Saturday at 9 a.m. until time of the service.
