Robert Bob Rodgers

Robert Lynn "Bob" Rodgers, 65, of Lake Charles died Friday, November 19, 2010 in a local hospital.


Mr. Rodgers was born, raised and educated in Colorado. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School, United States Naval Academy where he attained a Bachelor Degree in Engineering and Louisiana State University where he attained a Master's Degree in Marketing. He served the United States Navy during Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He has worked the past fifteen years as the Customer Service Manager for Lake Charles Toyota.


Mr. Rodgers enjoyed working crossword puzzles, suduko, playing bridge, disc golf and above all, spending time with his grandchildren. He will be most remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather with an overwhelming love for his family. He will be greatly missed by his family who loved him dearly, along with many friends.


He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of forty one years, Susan Webber Rodgers of Lake Charles; one daughter, Erin Rodgers Thacker and husband Joe of Birmingham, AL; one son, Colin Brant Rodgers and wife Sonya of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Zen Chila of Lake Charles, Sawyer Thacker and Tanner Thacker, both of Birmingham, AL and one brother, William "Bil" Rodgers and wife Karen of Denver, CO.


He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ocie Elliott Rodgers.


Memorial services will be at 12:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ronnie Estes will officiate. A gathering of friends and family will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
