Robert “Bobby” Atney Ardoin, 71, passed away on June 15, 2017, at his residence in Moss Bluff, Louisiana.
Bobby was born on May 15, 1946, in Mamou, LA, and he was a life-time resident of Moss Bluff. He proudly served his country as a helicopter mechanic in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Bobby was a member of Carpenter’s Local 953 and served as vice-president. He was also a member of Knight’s of Columbus Hall and a previous usher at St. Theodore’s Catholic Church.
After working for Northrop Grumman, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren play baseball and football. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting and fishing when his health permitted. Bobby will always be remembered as a devoted New Orleans Saints football fan.
Bobby is survived by his wife Cynthia Ann Sackett Ardoin, one daughter Cherie Ardoin Trahan (Don) of Lake Charles and one son Terrell James Stafford (Michele) of Moss Bluff. He is also survived by his two adopted children/grandchildren, Brittany Ann Ardoin and Brandon Marc Ardoin, both of Lake Charles. Also left to cherish his memory are his four grandchildren: Jordan Tyler Seago, Jared Todd Stafford (Allyson), Jeremy Trent Stafford, and Billy Ray Faucett. He also leaves eight great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his constant and faithful four-legged companion, King.
He is preceeded in death by his father Elmo Ardoin and his mother Viney Marie LeDoux Mosely.
The family will receive friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, June 16, 2017, from 4-8:30 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at St. Theodore Catholic Church on Saturday from 9-10:00 AM. A funeral mass will be held at the church beginning at 10:00 officiated by Msgn. Charles Dubois. Burial will follow in Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
