October 7, 1950 — February 26, 2011

Bobby Carrier, 60, passed away due to terminal cancer on the morning of Saturday, February 26, 2011 surrounded by many loved ones.

He was a native and lifelong resident of the Lake Charles area and a graduate of Marion High School. Mr. Carrier will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and devoted friend to many. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was riding horses or spending time at the camp in Toledo Bend. He loved fishing and hunting with his son and grandsons, and teaching and watching his daughter and granddaughters to rodeo. Bobby was always exceptionally proud of the accomplishments and the tasks that his daughter, Julie, has overcome. Mr. Carrier formerly owned and operated Floyd's Sausage hut in LeBleu Settlement, where he enjoyed making sausage, boudin and cracklins for many years. He enjoyed working along side many friends and family. He was currently employed at Luke's RV where he held many positions and responsibilities during which time he established a very close relationship with the Hoffpauir family. Mr. Carrier was also a very talented carpenter with a specialty in cabinetry.

He leaves to honor his memory, one son, Robert J. Carrier, Jr. and wife Michelle of Lake Charles; two daughters, Monica Carrier McDaniel and husband David Matthew and Julie Carrier, both of Iowa; his mother Gertrude Carrier of Lake Charles; brother, Ferdie Carrier and wife Dean; sister, Kathy Beard and husband David; eight grandchildren, Christian, Lain and Zain Matthew, Mackenzie and Ashlynne McDaniel, Brant Carrier and Megan and Chase Moseley; and the mother of his children, Jackie Carrier Kolb. He also leaves dear friends who have become like family to him, the Martin and Van Hoffpauir family, along with his co-workers at Martin's Paint and Body Shop and Luke's RV. He is preceded in death by his father, Floyd Carrier and his Godparents, Emery and Alice Bearb.
