Bobby Babin, son of the late Clifford and Esther Savant Babin, was born in Lake Charles, LA on September 20, 1944, and passed away on August 15, 2010 in Houston, TX following a heart attack at age 65.
From his early teens, Bobby was involved in rodeoing; in his younger years as a bare-back rider, and later as a rodeo clown. Bobby was honored with induction into the Professional Rodeo Clown Hall of Fame in recent years. Bobby and his wife owned and operated Texas Copies, a medical records copying service, servicing Houston and the surrounding area.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Kate Miller Babin of Houston, TX; one daughter, Monique Babin Elam of Sulphur; and one son, Robert Paul Babin, Jr., Esq. of Tallahassee, FL. Bobby is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild; by one brother, C.G. Babin; and one sister, Joyce Babin Guillory both of Lake Charles.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Allen Babin.
Following visitation in Houston on Wednesday, August 18, a visitation will be held on Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM following the visitation with Deacon Dan Landry officiating. Burial will be at Orange Grove Cemetery.
