Robert Charles Lacombe

Robert Charles LaCombe, 71, of Lake Charles, LA died at 9:55 PM on Friday, September 14, 2012 in a local care facility.

Mr. LaCombe was born October 11, 1940 in Opelousas, LA and lived in a variety of places before moving to Lake Charles fifteen years ago to be close to his grandchildren. He graduated from Oklahoma Military Academy and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. LaCombe worked thirty years in the tire business, owning LaCombe Tire Company in Many and Florien, LA for a number of those years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and liked playing cards and dominoes. He was a spiritual man who loved reading the bible and took great comfort in his belief in God. He will always be remembered for his affectionate nature and his great sense of humor.

Mr. LaCombe is survived by his children, Mary Bridgett LaCombe of Opelousas, LA, Monica Miller and husband Philip of Lake Charles, Jennifer LaCombe of Chile and Brandi Balch and husband Jimmy of Justin, TX; and his grandchildren, Grant Miller, Andrea Miller, Lindsay Miller and James Ryder Balch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Syble LaCombe; and brother, A. L. LaCombe.

He was cremated under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at a later date.
