Robert Charles "R.C." Gow, Jr., 92, of Lake Charles, LA died at 1:45 PM on Monday, April 7, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Gow was born March 28, 1922 in Crowley, LA, where he graduated from Crowley High School. He served his country in the U.S. National Guard and then the U.S. Army for seven years. Mr. Gow has lived in Lake Charles, LA for the past sixty-five years and retired in 1981 from Cities Service, where he worked as an operator for over thirty-two years. He was raised in the Methodist faith and attended St. Margaret Catholic Church. He enjoyed growing vegetable gardens, tending to his fruit trees, and watching Western movies. He will always be remembered for his memorable character and his love of visiting with others. Mr. Gow is survived by his children, Sherryl Gow of Lake Charles, Diana Morasco and husband Francis of Lake Charles, and Robert Gow, III and wife Barbara of Conroe, TX; grandchildren, Angela McCain, Nicholas Morasco, Allison Cash, and Melissa Holliday; and great-grandchildren, Lexi, Noah, Gabe, Anna, Lily, Jacob, McKenzie, Jessica, Emma, and Sadie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabell Breaux Gow and two sisters. His funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Jeff Starkovich will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
