Robert Dale Langley

Robert Dale Langley, 73, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in Houston, TX. He was born on July 3, 1949, to James and Lucille Deshotel Langley in Lake Charles, LA. He graduated from LaGrange High School in 1967 with his future wife. He and Carolyn Chesson Langley were married August 10, 1970. Later that year, Robert was drafted into the US Army, where he spent 2 years at Ft Sill. Robert was an electrician and member of the IBEW #861 for 41 years. He was a devoted member of Moss Bluff United Methodist Church. Robert was a hardworking man with a gentle heart that belonged to God and his friends and family.

In the following years he and Carolyn created a beautiful life together. They raised two daughters, Sara and Allison, in a home of faith, love, and laughter. He will always be remembered for his hard work, sense of humor, love of his family, fishing, travel, and perhaps above all, his beloved pet Pancho.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Chesson Langley; his brother, AJ (Sharyl) Langley; his sisters-in-law, Wanda and Judy Langley; his daughters, Sara (Jeff) Texada of Carrollton, TX and Allison (Mark) Goins of Bossier City, LA;  five grandchildren: Wesley Goins, Jack Texada, Amy Grace Goins, Addie Goins, and Drew Texada; and his large extended family of in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille, and his brothers, Sherman, and Jimmy Langley.

His funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 6, 2023, in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. Rev. Allison Sauls Sikes, along with Rev. Dr. Daniel Gleason will officiate. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will resume on Thursday from 1:30 PM until the start of the service at 3:00 PM.

Donations may be made in Robert’s memory to further the research and eventually find a cure for pancreatic cancer at www.pancan.org.
