Robert David Stone Crowe

June 3, 1952 — March 25, 2022

Robert David Stone Crowe passed away peacefully March 25, 2022, at the SW LA Veterans home in Jennings, Louisiana.  He was the son of Marvin W. Crowe and Nancy Stone Crowe.

David graduated from LaGrange High School in 1970.  He attended The University of Houston and completed his Batchelor of Science degree at McNeese State University.  David belonged Kappa Sigma Fraternity at McNeese.  He was drafted into the Army in 1972 and served as a Medical Specialist in the Vietnam War.  He worked for 27 years Georgia Gulf refinery as a lab analyst.

David was a wonderful husband, father, and brother. David gave many volunteer hours assisting and coaching for his children’s soccer leagues.  He was an active member of The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.  David was also involved in many local Mardi Gras Krewes: Krewe du Lac, Krewe of Barateria, and Krewe of Contraband.

David is survived by his wife, Cindy Moore Crowe; his children, Ginger Crowe, Robert Crowe (Mallory) and Shelbi Ann Crowe; his granddaughter, Caroline Crowe; also, Mason and Ann Crowe Lindsay; Laura and David Gaar children Lindsay and Layla Gaar; Graham and Heather Lindsay children Ava, Audrey, and Lawton Lindsay; Gary and Kim, children Andrew, and Sydney Crowe; Janet Crowe Andrus and Mark Andrus, children, Catherine Andrus Lacienski and Nic Lacienski, Taylor and Michelle, Stone and Emma Andrus; Richard and Allison Crowe, children, Aimee Crowe Januska and Stan Januska, Hannah Crowe Peterson and Mark Peterson and Grayson, Annabel Crowe; Tracie Crowe Schilling, Rebecca Ariel Schilling, mother in law Wilma C Moore, and brother in law Todd Allen Moore. Also, many cousins, nephews and nieces, and extended family.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Nancy Crowe, his grandparents Pearl and Robert Stone, Pearl and William Marshall Crowe, and numerous aunts and uncles.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to all who have provided David medical assistance over 18 years:  Dr. Anil Nanda, Dr. Eric Wolfe, Dr. Tim Best, Touro Neuro Rehab in New Orleans, Mayo Clinic Brain Rehab in Rochester MN, Compassionate Daycare of Lake Charles, and Home Instead, of Lake Charles (especially Barbara).

David’s last years were filled with fun and wonderful care at the SW Louisiana Veterans home.  We thank all staff in Unit 3 and Unit 4; Dr. Charles Ray, Lamm Hospice (Linzy, Mark, Kristen, and Crystal), Unit 4 Nursing Supervisor Sheryl; Unit 4 CNAs, Activities Group, Julie, Kaly, and Casey.  They are truly an extended part of our family.

And most importantly our friends that have faithfully prayed and supported us over the past 18 years.  Especially Father Seth Donald, Father Peter Cook, and Father John Clark.

Donations may be made to St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church Recovery House, 123 W. Sale Road, Lake Charles, 70605. 

A private family memorial service was held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.  Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
