Robert Edward Gardner, Jr.

Robert Edward Gardner, Jr., 56, passed away at his residence on Thursday, May 2, 2019.

He was born on March 4, 1963 in Lake Charles, LA to Robert and Cynthia Gardner.

After graduating high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Navy on submarines for five and a half years. He was a gun enthusiast and collected guns and Hot Wheels cars. He will be remembered for his generosity and always being willing to help anyone in need. He believed laughter is the best medicine and did his best to make people laugh.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Laura Gardner; children, Samuel Gardner, Matthew Gardner and Abigail Gardner; grandson, Konnor; siblings, Randy Dean Gardner (Anally), Shandell Moss (Boyd), Lonnie Gardner (Cynthia) and Walter Gardner; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Edward Gardner; and father, Robert Edward Gardner, Sr.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at First Pentecostal Church of Westlake at 2 PM on Monday, May 6, 2019. Pastor Mark R. Stanton will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 1:30 PM until the start of the service.
