Robert G. Dettmann

Robert G. Dettmann, age 73, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011, at his residence in Lake Charles.

Born May 9, 1937, in Chicago, IL, he enjoyed gardening and fishing. He retired from Caterpillar after working many years as a welder. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceding him in death was his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Dettmann.

Survivors include his children, Karen Foster and husband, David of Braceville, IL, Donald Dettmann and wife, Missy of Dwight, IL, John Dettmann of Lake Charles, and James Dettmann of Morris, IL; a sister, Carol Oberfell of Chicago, IL; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011, at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Norris will officiate. Visitation will be held that morning from 9 a.m. until time of services.
