Robert Guidry, 76, of Sulphur, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at his residence.
Robert retired from the Insulators local, Crowley America Transport, and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was member of Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church and a member of Teamsters Local 969. Robert loved watching NHRA Drag Racing, and the PBR; he was also a very avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Robert was a man of very few words; nonetheless he was quick witted and had clever nicknames for each family member. The family has very fond memories of funny stories with Robert, especially his “love-hate” relationship with cotton. He will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Judith “Judy” Guidry; son, Craig Guidry and wife, Crystal; daughter, Joni Nassar and husband, Barry; grandchildren, Haley and Cade Guidry, Kaitlyn Mouton, Laci Nassar, and Brant Nassar; and great-grandchildren, Cooper, Waylon, Brenley, Maverick, and arriving in April 2025, Gracelynn Raine. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Anne Comeaux and her husband, B.B.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Trahan; father, Carroll Guidry, and his brother, Roy Guidry.
A Memorial Service honoring Robert’s life will be held at 2PM, Friday, December 6, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. Father John Welch will officiate. A gathering of friends and family will be Friday, 10am – 2pm with a recitation of the Rosary at 1pm. His inurnment will be in Roselawn Cemetery Mausoleum of Sulphur.
