Robert Henry, 80, of Sulphur passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 surrounded by his family. Robert was a retired school teacher with the Cameron Parish School Board where he spent 28 years teaching at Hackberry High School. His hobbies included fishing, “political consultant to students and friends”, gardening, his pets and his grandkids. He enjoyed taking care of his loving wife, Loretta “his nurse”. Robert served his country in the Louisiana National Guard for eight years.
Robert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loretta; his five children, Karen Rutter and husband Chung of Dallas, Texas, Robert Leland Henry and wife Mary of Sulphur, Melanie Pinder and husband Mike of Lake Charles, Jeremy Henry and wife Lisa of Sulphur and Ginger Simon and husband John of Sulphur; his grandchildren, Jordan and James, Derek, Daniel and Christopher, Emily and Mike III, Madison, Victoria and Gracie and Ashton, Gavin, Jesse, Tristan and Tanner. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandchild, Joshua Henry.
A memorial service for Robert will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 11 AM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Father Paul Jussen, M.S. officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 9 AM until the start of the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your choice of charity in Mr. Henry's name.
