Robert A. "Bob" Hunter, 80, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 surrounded by his family. Bob was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and later McNeese State University with a Masters Plus. Bob was a retired educator in Calcasieu Parish and worked for CARC after his retirement. He was a faithful member of Olivet Baptist Church. Bob was a member of The Gideon's International. He was affectionally known as "Pappy" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob was a United States Army veteran. Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Morris Ann Hunter; three daughters, Dana (Ray) Taylor of Carlyss, LA, Jennifer Hendrickson of Centerville, TX and Cydni Hunter (Terry) Frazier of Conroe, TX; one son, Robert Glenn (Paula) Hunter of Sulphur; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Leona Hunter; two sisters, Nell Harrell and Margaret Johns; and six brothers, J.W. Hunter, Thomas Lee Hunter, Julius Whitaker, Roy Whitaker, Raymond Whitaker and Donald Whitaker. Services for Bob will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 10 am at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Don Walker officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 4, 2015 from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
