Robert Leif Patterson

Robert Leif Patterson, 68, passed away at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX on January 10, 2018.

Robert served his country in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged from the Army he spent his life in the Lake Charles area in many construction related fields. During his career he worked at PPG, Rebel Energy, and Heidt Construction, completing his career as a Safety Director at Reynolds Aluminum. Robert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed cooking and playing his guitar with his friends. Robert is remembered by his family as a good son, brother, uncle, and friend. Robert wrote that he loved spending time with old friends at the deer camp and that he would save them a spot.

He is survived by two sisters, Joyce Patterson and her husband John Stubblefield, and Paula Patterson Gossett; and niece, Sarah Gossett.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirley Sweeney Patterson; and wife, Maggie Myers Patterson.

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 10AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Rev. Katie Simpson will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home at 4PM to 7PM on Monday, January 15th and will continue Tuesday morning at 9AM until the start of the service.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors and staff of MD Anderson Hospital, Don Bruno, and Ronald Sweeney for their love and care in Robert’s final days.
