Robert Leo Fischer, 89 of Sulphur passed away on August 10, 2015. He worked and retired from Cities Service for 35 years in Sulphur as a Chief Chemist. He served his country in the U S Navy during World War II. Robert was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur. He was a head usher at the 9 A.M. Mass for 20 years and also belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Robert enjoyed playing pool at the Sulphur Senior Center, playing golf and entertaining the nursing home group with his electric guitar. Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doreen Smith Fischer of Sulphur; his children, Linda Fischer and Nancy Fischer both of Tampa, FL, Alan Fischer of Sacramento, CA, Eric Fischer and wife Catherine of Pine Bluff, AR, Joyce Fischer of Lake Charles and Peter Fischer and wife Krystal Ellender of Lake Charles; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 11 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Aubrey Guilbeau officiating. Burial will be held in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. with a rosary at 6:30 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 9 A.M. until time of leaving for the church.
