Robert Milton Davis

Robert Milton Davis, 76, of Lake Charles, LA died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 in a local hospital.

Robert was born on October 27, 1939 in Shreveport, LA to Robert and Thelma Davis. He graduated from Marion High School in 1957 and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA. He carried on the family tradition as a barber which included his father, uncle, and brother for over 50 years. Robert worked at Piermont Barber Shop in Shreveport, LA and The Model Barber Shop in Lake Charles, LA. Robert was the owner Davis Barber Shop and the Clip Joint Barber Shop in Lake Charles, LA. He served our country in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1964 in the 82nd Airborne Division. Robert was of the Baptist faith having been a member of Bethel Baptist Church, 12th St. Baptist Church, and Heritage Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Karen Creel Davis, of Lake Charles, LA; two children, Becky Davis Latham and husband Jeff of Moss Bluff, LA and Jerry Wayne Davis and wife Sheila of Nederland, TX; one brother, Randall Graham Davis and wife Brenda of Dequincy, LA; and six grandchildren, Robert Allen Davis, Amanda Davis, Lauren Ashley Davis, Lauren Alysse Malmay, Jordan Latham and Jake Latham; daughter in law, Miriam Davis of Baton Rouge, LA; brother in law, David Creel; and three nephews, Chris Creel, John Laurie, and David Laurie.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Robert Douglas Davis.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, February 12, 2016 at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, February 12, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
