Robert Nelson Alexander

Robert Nelson Alexander, 71, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 in a local hospital.

Mr. Alexander was born June 7, 1944 and raised in Sicily Island, LA, where he attended high school. He worked for a ship yard in Beaumont, TX and then the Army Corp of Engineers in Mississippi, before moving to Lake Charles in 1979. He retired as a welder / pipefitter from PPG after eighteen years of service and was a member of the IAM Machinist Local #470. Mr. Alexander was a member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church, where he served as an usher for many years. He enjoyed welding and loved to spend time with his family. He will always be remembered for his personality and his love of children.

Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Jacerline “Jackie” Alexander; son, Chad Alexander and Dawna Ann; daughter, Holly Alexander; nephew that he loved like his own, William Smith and wife Mystie of Houston, TX; sisters, Tressie M. Ogden of Baker, LA, Faye Bradley of Ragley, LA, Sarah A. Tomlinson and husband James of Baker, LA and Vickie A. Cader of St. Joseph, LA; grandchildren, Raegan Pankey, Tanner Alexander, Morgan Alexander, Hannah Olivia Alexander, Cruz Anthony Alexander and Reese Avery Alexander.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Woodrow D. Alexander, Charlie S. Alexander, and Danny W. Alexander; and sister, Cecil L. Parker.

His funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Aaron Lopez will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
