Robert Paul “Buck” Daley, 79, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Saturday, December 23, 2017 in a local hospital.
Mr. Daley was born January 26, 1938 to Frank and Fern Daley. He was a graduate of Landry High School and served in the U.S. National Guard for eleven years. He worked forty years for the Local #106/798 as a pipefitter/welder and was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Mr. Daley enjoyed sculpting with clay and had a great love for the Catholic faith. His most exquisite pieces were The Pieta, The Garden of Gethsemane, The Virgin Mary, and numerous crucifixes. Mr. Daley never sold his works of art, instead he gave them to others graciously. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be missed dearly.
Mr. Daley is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-nine years, Ruth Marie Conner Daley; five children, Jeff Daley, Alan Daley, Mark Daley, Deborah Daley Faul (Keith) and Matthew Daley; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren with two more on-the-way
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Fern Daley; sister, Barbara Jean Schultz; and best friends, Red and Jo Schexneider.
His funeral service will be at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 11AM on Thursday, December 28, 2017. Monsignor Danny Torres will officiate. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Cemetery.
