Robert Ray Hardee

July 14, 1950 — April 14, 2017

Robert Ray Hardee, 66, of Lake Charles passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 in the comfort of his home.

 

Mr. Hardee was born July 14, 1950 to Thomas Walter Hardee and Eulalia Tucker Hardee in Shreveport, LA and has lived most of his life in Pleasant Hill, LA. He was a graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and Northwestern State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business. He worked most of his life as a salesman in the Auto industry and at one time owned his own dealership. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling with his family and was often the reason everyone had such a good time. Mr. Hardee will be most remembered as a wise man with a kind heart, friendly smile and cheerful spirit; most importantly, his overwhelming love for his family.

 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Evelyn Hoosier Hardee; six children, Ashley Hardee Boudreaux and husband Lamar, Raygan Hardee Fluitt and husband Jason; Chris Benoit and wife Kara, Cody Benoit and wife Amber, Dana Armentor and husband Donald, Laura Oliver and husband Evan; fifteen grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas “Sonny” Hardee and wife Karen and Hugh Hardee and wife Paula; one sister, Sue Sanders; one sister-in-law, Jimmie Hardee and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joe Tucker Hardee, Sr. and brother-in-law, Sidney Sanders.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 18, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Doctor Richard Baggett will officiate. Graveside services Tuesday will be at 3:00 PM in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill, LA. Visitation Monday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Tuesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers for his services will be Joe Hardee, Jr., Donald Armentor, Josh Hoosier, Lamar Boudreaux, Jason Fluitt and Hamp Hardee.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Truman Durr, Benton Johnson, Wayne Hoosier, James Hoosier and Benny Powell.

 

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Anna Landry, Cardiovascular Specialist, Evangeline Home Health and Heart of Hospice for their kindness and excellence in care.
