Jamie Richard

Robert James “Jamie” Richard, age 38, passed away on August 9th, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. Jamie was born October 6, 1985 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Gregory Richard and Michelle Doucet. He was raised in Moss Bluff, lived most of his life in the Lake area and in 2020 moved to Dallas. He was a 2004 graduate of Sam Houston High School 2015 graduate of Southwest Louisiana Technical Community College. Jamie worked many years in the Security field for Isle of Capri Casino. Following his move to Dallas, he was grateful for the opportunity to work with Signify Health until obtaining a position with the city. He took great pride in working as a Pump Station Operator for the City of Carrolton Water Plant.

Jamie loved skateboarding and attempted Freestyle BMX. His passion for the sports was most about the building of the ramps and boxes and buying and building bikes piece by piece. As an avid gamer, he enjoyed technology and putting together a computer tower with all the components for the “ultimate gaming experience”. His down time was often spent listening to Podcast. Jamie will be most remembered for his kind heart, to a fault. Often giving what he didn’t have to give and feeding others, when he himself was hungry. His generous spirit will be greatly missed.

 He is survived by his daughter, Abbie; his father and stepmother, Gregory Richard (Wendy) of Lake Charles; his mother, Michelle Doucet (Brad Munson) of Dallas, TX; his sisters, Macie Landry (Johnathan) and Chelsey Frey (Evan); grandparents, Pauline McComb, Carol DeVall Gaddis (James) and Brenda Nelson (Chris); three nieces; two nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Joie Broussard; his grandparents, Joe McComb, and Joseph and Shirley Broussard; his uncle, Robby Fontenot; his aunts, Christine Bergeron and Brandi Doucet Skinner and his cousin, Brandon Derouen.

A Ceremony of Remembrance will begin at 5:00 PM Friday, August 23, 2024 in the Chapel of Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. A gathering of family and friends will begin Friday at 4:00 PM and will continue following the remembrance.
