Robert "Snow" Coe

The spirit of Robert Earl Coe passed from this world to the next on Sunday, October 8, 2017. He was born in Columbia, Louisiana in 1927 and lived in Lake Charles most of his life. “Snow”, as he was known to his friends, was an electrician and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over seventy years. He was very committed to IBEW Local 861, having served in the past as business manager and also as president. Snow graduated from LaGrange High School where he played on the football team. He was an accomplished duck hunter and freshwater fisherman. He served proudly in the Merchant Marines.

Mr. Coe is survived by three daughters and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Coe Hocking and her husband Michael of Ridgefield, WA, Diane Coe Thibodeaux and her husband Belton of Lake Charles, Cynthia Coe Burbach and her husband Erv of Sunset, SC, and Dana Landry Coe of Lake Charles. He is also survived by nine grandchildren (Jess, Hannah, Courtney, Melanie, John Daniel, Ashley, Lauren, Jordan, and Andrew) and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving to cherish Robert’s memory is his special friend, Charlotte Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Athan Coe and Jennie Nevils Coe; his sister, Lucile Coe Lee; his son, Robert Athan Coe; and the mother of his children, Vera Guidry Coe.

The family will receive family and friends at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Services for Mr. Coe will be held at Johnson’s Chapel at 1:00 PM on Friday with his grandson-in-law, The Reverend Jeremy Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
