Robert "Uncle Bob" Young

Robert Young, 61, of Iota died Thursday, March 6, 2014 in a hospital in Lafayette. Uncle Bob was born on September 29, 1952 in Lake Charles, LA to Ray and Lelia Young. He loved playing basketball, writing, and singing. Survivors include two sisters, Alice Marie John of Elton, LA and Loretta Dale Johnson and husband Harvey of Ragley; one brother, Ray "Billy" Young Jr.; and many Nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Alva Lee Young, Roy " Butch" Young, Howard Ray Young; one sister, Helen Wells; one brother in law, Richard D. Wells. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Sunday morning at 8:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery. Reverend M.G. Davis will officiate services.
