Robert Wayne Everage, Sr.

July 9, 1952 — September 9, 2017

Robert Wayne Everage, Sr. of Iowa, LA entered into eternal life September 9, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. In his final days it was clear to see those lives he touched as fellow motorcycle racers, mechanics, co-workers, family and friends stopped to visit. From his birth on July 9, 1952 to his death he loved motorcycles, fast cars, and women and amused people with his love, jokes, and perfect hair. He was born to Ernest and Della and was one of four siblings. He spent his days among many mechanics where he learned to fix anything and everything. At the age of 23 Robert married the love of his life Susie and spent the next 42 years as an amazing family man and loving husband. His hobbies included racing motorcycles and spending time with his kids as an amazing dad and pawpaw. He worked for Wilson Oldsmobile-Cadillac for 30 years and retired from Nissan 7 years later. Robert spent his last few years of retirement eating seafood on Sundays with family and making memories hunting, shooting, and fishing with his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Morse Everage; sons, Robert Wayne (Nola) Everage and Chad (Dena) Everage; eight grandkids, Matt, Bryce, Kirstin, Randall, Mark, Robbie, Daxton, and Trinady; One great grandchild, Jonathan; father, Ernest (Judy) Everage; sisters, Carolyn (Gordon) Edwards and Wanda “Cookie” Gonzales; sister in law, Pat Everage; and beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Della Everage; brother, James Everage; and nephews, Mark Edwards and Jason Edwards. We are confident that Robert is now with these family members and other friends laughing and telling stories about the good ole days. He will live forever in the hearts of the many lives he touched.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roger Templeton and Pastor Tony Bourque will officiate. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the services.
