Roberta Mary Bouquet Joslin

Roberta Mary Bouquet Joslin, 85, of Lake Charles died at 6:50 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 in her residence.

Mrs. Joslin was born on September 1, 1926 in Lake Charles, LA and was a graduate of LaGrange High School. As a teenager, she worked at St. Patrick's Hospital and also The Delta Theater as a ticket clerk. In her later years she worked at Stop N' Shop Grocery and at the Catholic Diocese of Lake Charles. Mrs. Joslin had a very strong Catholic faith.

She had a special quality about her that others admired. Evidence of this was shown in the last hours of her earthly life as family and friends arrived to say their final farewell. A beautiful lady in every sense of the word, Roberta touched our hearts as she showed the true meaning of love, courage, and Faith in the Lord. We were blessed to have her in our lives.

Mrs. Joslin was lovingly known as "MaaMaa" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she adored.

In her honor we will carry out her tradition of cooking big feasts on holidays and Sundays. Mrs. Joslin was a huge fan of NASCAR. Sunday afternoons were reserved for watching races on tv. She knew the name of every driver and the number of their cars.

Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Vicky Joslin Goss and husband Russell, and Jan Joslin Duraso and husband Curt all of Westlake; a daughter-in-law, Missy Joslin Pringle of Alexandria; three grandchildren, Danika Duraso Johnson and husband Heath of Westlake, Stacy Joslin Johnson and husband Jacob of Moss Bluff, and Sonny Joslin of Alexandria; four great grandchildren, Gavin and Payton Johnson and Lainey and Brylee Johnson; a brother, George Bouquet of Lake Charles; and four sisters, Ida Mae Jones and Eileen "Pinkie" Chaumont both of Lake Charles, Martha Ann "Plukey" Todd of Holmwood, and Beth Arendt of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. "Bibb" and Manette (Landry) Bouquet; her husband, A.J. Joslin; a son, Michael Edward Joslin; her twin brother, Robert Bouquet, Sr.; and two sisters, Mervyn Bouquet Phillips and Celeste "Tessie" Bouquet Belaire.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 4, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Alan Trouille will officiate. Burial will follow in DeRouen-Lorraine Cemetery in Hayes, LA. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
