Robin Richard, Jr.

A. Robin Richard, Jr. passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

He was born on October 11, 1930 in Crowley, LA to Sue Cart Richard and Allen Robin Richard, Sr. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and his community involvement. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force before going to work for PPG where he enjoyed a 44 year career as a mechanical engineer and later as a consultant. He was a dedicated member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and strong supporter of the McNeese State University Foundation.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Julie Alston (Mickey), Patrick Richard (Cathy), and Rachelle Tomaszewski (Dan); grandchildren, Skylar Richard, Nikki Sue Alston, Melinda Slaughter (Mike), Colby Alston, Greg Richard, John Tomaszewski (Alex), Sam Tomaszewski, and Ben Tomaszewski; great grandchild, Landon Slaughter; siblings, Mary Sue Gray and Jack Richard (Agatha); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Bird Richard; son, Allen Robin Richard, III; and his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11 a.m. Rev. Whitney Miller will officiate. Burial will take place in Consolata Cemetery following the service. Visitation will take place at University Baptist Church on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the McNeese Foundation and the Lupus Foundation.
