Roderick C. Granger, 64, of Lake Charles died at 1:40 PM on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in a local care facility.
Mr. Granger was a native and life long resident of Lake Charles where he attended Marion High School. He joined the U.S. Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Granger was previously employed as both a salesman and a manager for Wilson Supply and also Standard Supply.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, David Granger and wife Kendra of Lake Charles; three sisters, Fay Richard of Lake Charles, Geraldine McIntire of Ohio, and Gayle Boudoin of Lake Charles; his former wife, Betty Granger Johnson of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Bryce Shrope Granger, and Ethan and Elijah Granger; and a step grandson, Andre' Buller.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vernice Granger and two brothers, James P. and Louis Granger.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Ray Granger will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of services.
