Rodney Anthony Manard, 57 of Sulphur passed away on March 31, 2013 in a local hospital. Rodney retired from Calcasieu Parish Police Jury after 25 years as a heavy equipment operator. He loved dancing, cooking crawfish, making turtle sauce picante and spending time with his family and friends. His other hobbies were sitting around a campfire at the family camp on Sabine River and cutting his grass. Rodney is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cherie Manard of Sulphur; daughter, Monica Manard of Sulphur; son, Jacob Manard of Sulphur; granddaughter, Trennadie Elizabeth; sister, Peggy Doucet; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aristile and Carrie Manard; brothers, Edward Lee Manard and Butch Manard; sister, Linda Veronie; and brother-in-laws, Gary Johnson, Mark and Patrick Ellender. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Mounce officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 4-9 p.m. at the funeral home with a rosary at 6 p.m. and will resume on Thursday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
