Rodney Dale Goins

Rodney Dale Goins, 56, of Ragley, LA departed this life on Sunday, May 15, 2011.

Born June 7, 1954 in Lake Charles, LA, Mr. Goins lived most of his life in Ragley. He was a 1973 graduate of Sough Beauregard High School. He was a heavy equipment operator most of his life until he started his own business, RDG Enterprises, Inc., in 2009. He was also a member of Union Local 406 for thirty-five years.

His greatest joy in life was his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time outdoors.

Mr. Goins is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Becky Griffin Goins; daughters, Kasha Goins Deason and husband Jack of Longville, Jada Goins Derouen and husband Jordon, and Shayla Goins Crawford and husband Drew, all of Ragley; father, Sherwood Goins of Dry Creek, LA; mother-in-law, Dorothy Griffin of Ragley, LA; brother, Marvin Goins and wife Brenda of Longville, LA; and grandchildren, Ashlynn, Jaclyn, Jaydon, Mason, Bryce, Madilynn, and Grant.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lilla Goins; sisters, Linda Smith and Merlin Wallace; and brother, William "Buddy" Perkins.

His funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at St. Theodore Catholic Church. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate. Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, LA. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the start of the service.
