Rodney Joseph Trahan, Sr., of Lake Charles, died Tuesday November 4, 2014 at a local care facility following an extended illness. Rodney was a native of Lake Arthur and lived in the Lake Charles area for most of his life. He was a self employed painter and of the Christian faith. Preceding Rodney in death are his parents, Ozon Joseph and Lovenia LaBauve Trahan; his wife, Betty Trahan; children, Butch Trahan, Ronald James Trahan, Debbie Manuel, and Karen Ann Trahan; a brother, Earl Louis Trahan and sister, Una Mae Guidry. He is survived by his son, Kenneth Trahan and wife Stacy, Westlake; daughters, Pamela Battaglini and husband Matthew, Houston and Brenda Darlene Trahan, Oberlin; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Mason Trahan and Willard Trahan and wife Peggy, Lake Charles; sisters, Eunice Guidry and husband Danis, Lake Charles; Emma Lean Crochet and husband Milton, Jennings, Lena Cradeur, LeBleu Settlement; Peggy Hartzog and husband Gilbert, Bogalusa, La. and Earline Pago and husband Joseph, Sulphur; and a host of nieces, nephews. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A private family burial of his remains will be at a later date.
