Roger Lewis Eiselstein

Roger Lewis Eiselstein went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 19, 2010.

Left to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-six years, Willow; his children, Susan and Bob Sheffield, Elaine Eiselstein and David Eiselstein, all of Moss Bluff, and Jim Eiselstein and Starla Eiselstein of Beaumont, TX; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Vance and husband Carlton; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of brothers and sisters in Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter S. and Edna Eiselstein; and brother, Edward.

He was a minister of the gospel for sixty years and pastured numerous small churches in Louisiana. "Bro. E" will be missed at Bethany Baptist Church in LeBleu Settlement, where he served for thirty-seven years.

A funeral service will be at Bethany Baptist Church at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Reverend Frances LaRocque will officiate. A service will also be at 3:00 PM in Calvary Baptist Church in Gardner, LA, the place of his ordination and first pastorate. Burial will follow in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday at Bethany Baptist Church from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM and continue at Calvary Baptist Church from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
