Roland James "Jimmy" Derouen, 72, of Lake Charles, LA died Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Harbor Hospice Care Facility surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was born on March 23, 1943 in Bell City, LA to Offie and Della Derouen. He grew up in Bell City, LA where he attended high school and graduated in 1962. He was a car salesman for more than 40 years working for Cagle Chevrolet in the 1970's; he worked for Wilson Oldsmobile and Cadillac for more than 20 years and retired from Autoplex. He was a devoted member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. If you were fortunate to have Jimmy for a friend you were blessed. He was loyal to his friends and family and enjoyed talking sports and politics. He knew more about sports than most and could sit and watch any sport for hours. If you were a politician you were lucky when you got Jimmy's vote. He made sure to ask everyone he knew and saw to support you. Throughout the years Jimmy has met and created friendships that have lasted a lifetime. That was evident this week with the visits and calls. He was one of the "KD's" Breakfast bunch and enjoyed meeting his friends for breakfast. He will be missed by many especially his children, grandchildren, and the love of his life wife, Elaine. He was their rock. He made sure to speak to each one of his children every single day. They surrounded him with their love and prayers as he drew his last breath and entered into the Pearly Gates of Heaven. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Elaine Cation Derouen; three children, Tammy Mckeiver, Carl and wife Carolyn Derouen, and Scotty Derouen and wife Dee Dee; six grandchildren, Katelyn Derouen, Alyssa Derouen, Cameron Derouen, Zachary Mckeiver, Tyler and wife Melise Mckeiver, Gerrod and wife Alexis Fulmer; and three great grandchildren; six siblings, Dolores Wicks, Audrey "Sis' Jacobson, Karen and husband Don Conner, Aubrey " Buddy" and wife Betty Derouen, Byron and wife Edie Derouen, Ronald and wife Dean Ardoin.
