Roland Law Terrell

Roland Law Terrell, age 58, of Fenton, LA, left this world January 24, 2022.  

Roland was born October 27, 1963 in Lake Charles, LA and was married to his wife, Terri, for almost 30 years.  He was a 1981 graduate of Barbe High School.  He was the owner of Terrell and Associates, LLC, since 1996.  He joined the firm in 1983, eventually taking over the family business. During his career, he was a Life and Qualifying Member of MDRT with multiple Court of the Table and most recently Top of the Table honors. Roland served on the Questar Field Advisory Board for four years receiving the Partner of the Year award in 2017.  He was a resource to advisors as well, being consulted on practice management by multiple advisors around the country.  Roland was invested in developing local businesses in Lake Charles and was active with numerous organizations, including the Rotary Club, serving as a past President of the Better Business Bureau where he helped to build their new location, and served on the board for CEO.

He along with his wife Terri enjoyed volunteering and serving their community.  Together they also enjoyed tailgating at every LSU home game and RVing with their family.  He enjoyed hunting and was a member of Delta Water Foul and Safari Club International.  Roland was also a world traveler and loved exploring exciting new locations.  He will always be remembered as a loving husband and father who will be missed dearly.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Benson Barry Terrell, Sr. and Joan Renee Belaire Terrell, both of Lake Charles.

Roland leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children, Logan Shane Terrell and Austin Law Terrell; brothers, James Terrell and wife Susan of Iowa, LA and Barry Terrell and wife Kendrea of Lake Charles; nephews and nieces, Hunter Terrell, Trey Terrell, Ty Terrell, and Ethan Terrell, all of Lake Charles, LA, Natalia and David Broussard of Iowa, LA, Carter, Parker and Hattie Bullock of Austin, TX; great niece and nephew, Jude and Emma Broussard Iowa, LA; and aunts, Barbara Trice, Mary Lou Covington, Linda Dowies, Debra Belaire, and Sandra Belaire.

His funeral will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at St. Luke-Simpson United Methodist Church.  Reverend E. J. McCann and Dr. John Robert Black will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Thursday from 9:30 AM until the start of the service.
