Roland M. Tassin, Jr.

Roland M. Tassin Jr., 72, of Lake Charles, LA died Sunday, January 4, 2015 in a local hospital. Roland was born on July 14, 1942 in New Orleans, LA to Roland and Enid Tassin. He was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, LA. He enjoyed watching football games and following his favorite teams, New Orleans Saints, LSU, and MSU football teams. He also loved shrimping in the local Louisiana Bayous. He was an electrician by trade working mostly in the local petro chemical plants and on the Alaskan Pipeline. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Beverly Thibodeaux Tassin, of Lake Charles, LA; four children, Melissa Leger and husband Dave of Lake Charles, LA, Melinda and husband Craig Thibodeaux of Lake Charles, LA, Paul and wife Jennifer Tassin of Lafayette, LA, and Denise and Jennifer Tassin of Baltimore, MD; one stepdaughter, Christie Gotreaux and husband Nicholas of Lake Charles, LA; one stepson, Robert Andrepont and wife Donna; 12 grand children; numerous nieces and nephews; and one sister, Sonia and O.J. Thibodeaux. He is preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a 6:00 PM Rosary Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery. Father Cormier will officiate services.
