Ronald Cornelius Primeaux

April 18, 1940 — December 2, 2014

Ronald C. Primeaux, 74, of Grand Lake, passed away on Tuesday December 2, 2014 at the Southwest Louisiana Veteran's Home surrounded by his loving family. Ronald was a native of Creole. He honorably served our country in the United States Army during Vietnam. Following his military service, he became a pipefitter and welder and was a member of Locals 106 and 373. Ronald was a member of the American Legion, Veteran's of Foreign Wars, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, and attending auctions and flea markets. Ronald was very proud to be sure he was patronizing "Made in U.S.A." products. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Lasin and Beulah Savoie Primeaux, and a brother, Petrus. He leaves to honor and cherish his memories his beloved wife of 48 years, Shirley Broussard Primeaux; son, Derrick Primeaux and wife Wendy, and daughter, Victoria Primeaux; five grandchildren, Jacob Edwards, Nicholas and Emma Primeaux and Haven and Keagan Clevenger; brothers, JT Primeaux and wife Bobbie, Lonnie Primeaux and wife Carolyn, and Jude Primeaux and wife Bernaline; sister-in-law, Cindy Primeaux; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday December 5 at Johnson Funeral Home with a Scripture Service followed by a Cursillo Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Christ the King Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Anthony Fontenot serving as celebrant. Graveside committal services, with military honors, will be at Chenier Perdue Cemetery in Creole with Deacon Stephen Starr officiating. The family wishes to thank Synergy Home Health, Harbor Hospice and the Southwest Louisiana War Veteran's Home for the compassionate heartfelt care shown to our Beloved Ronald and us during this difficult time.
