Ronald Hilton Gauthier, 72, of Lake Charles, LA died at 2:05 AM on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in a local care facility. Mr. Gauthier was born April 14, 1942 in Shreveport, LA and was a graduate of Derby High School in Derby, KS. He also graduated from Baptist Christian University in Shreveport and Louisiana State University in Shreveport, LA, where he received his Bachelor's of Art degree. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and the National Guard. Mr. Gauthier owned and operated Gauthier and Associates Safety and Environmental Services, retiring in 2002 after thirty years of service. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mr. Gauthier was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, the American Legion, and the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. He loved gardening, collecting stamps, and genealogy Mr. Gauthier is survived by his wife of fifty one years, Joan Boswell Gauthier; daughter, Miriam Gauthier Guthrie and husband Ken of Baton Rouge, LA; grandchildren, Michael Guthrie and wife Antoinette of Lafayette, LA, Joseph Guthrie and wife Molly of Lake Charles, and Courtney Guthrie; and two great-grandchildren, Mark and Thomas Guthrie. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronny Gauthier, Jr.; parents, Hilton and Doris Gauthier; brothers, Jim Gauthier and Bobby Gauthier; and his parents-in-law, Rev. E.J. and Pauline Boswell. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Andrew Buckley and Rev. Francis LaRocque will officiate. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines Cemetery - South. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
