Ronald Ronnie Bernard

Ronald C. Bernard, age 70, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011, at a local hospital.

Born August 8, 1940, in Iota, he was the owner/operator of Bernard's Air Conditioning. He enjoyed his work very much. Preceding him in death were his parents, Bruce Bernard and Gertrude B. Cooper, and a step-daughter, Deborah Smooch. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Frances Simmons Bernard of Lake Charles; three sons, Scott Bernard and wife, Nancy, Dan Bernard, and Jim Bernard all of Lake Charles; two daughters, Karen Hutto and Charlotte Landry both of DeQuincy; a step-son, Darren Armistead of Lake Charles; and a granddaughter, Bonnie Bernard of Lake Charles.

His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until time of services.
