Ronald "Ronnie" Dale Vick, 65, of Lake Charles died on Monday, June 2, 2014 in a local hospital. Mr. Vick was born on September 1, 1948 in Lake Charles where he was a graduate of Lagrange High School and also of Sowela Technical Institute. He honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. He belonged to the VFW Post #2130 as well as the American Legion W.B. Williamson Post #1. Mr. Vick retired from Basell/Hercules/Himont as an operator after more than 30 years of service. He had a passion for NASCAR, LSU, and the New Orleans Saints. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving companion of 25 years, Shirley Cormier of Lake Charles; two sons, Gabe Vick and wife Monique of Sulphur and Josh Vick and wife Dana of Denton, TX; his mother, Della F. Vick of Lake Charles; two brothers, Carl Gardner and wife Nedra of Sulphur and Albert "Bubba" and wife Jeanie of Lake Charles; and two grandchildren, Turner and Tinsley Vick. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Guy Vick. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Kelly Vigo will officiate. Burial will follow in Goos Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the start of the services.
