Ronald Wayne Jones

Ronald Wayne Jones, 56, of Lake Charles died at 10:20 AM on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in his residence.


Mr. Jones was born in Lake Charles on August 31, 1954 and lived here all of his life. He was a graduate of Marion High School and attended Southern University. Mr. Jones was employed at PPG in the shipping department. He was a member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church where he sung in the choir and belonged to the Knights of Peter Clavier.


He had a passion for music and singing. He also enjoyed playing pool with family and friends, fishing, and outdoor activities including yard work.


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 33 years, Vickie Jones of Lake Charles; two daughters, Angelia Jones of Lake Charles and Amanda Jones of Houston, TX; a son, Adam Jones of Lake Charles; his mother, Maudrie P. Jones Ross of Lake Charles; two sisters, Cora Brown and husband Charles and Kim Pete all of Lake Charles; six brothers, Albert Jones and wife Sharon of Lake Charles, Kenneth Jones and wife Cynthia of Houston, Keith Jones and wife Mary of Navarra, FL, Patrick Peters and wife Audrey of Houston, Leonard Perkins and wife Theresa of Omaha, NE, and Jerry George and wife Earselee of Lake Charles; four grandchildren, Alana and Ashlyn Jones both of Lake Charles, Landon Jones of Sunset, LA, and Asia Jones of Lake Charles.


He was preceded in death by his father, Adam B. Jones and a brother, Lynn Irving Jones.


A funeral mass will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. The Rev. Keith Pellerin will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until time of services with a rosary being recited at 11:30 AM.
