Ronda Peveto-Fontenot

October 8, 1962 — February 24, 2021

Ronda Ann Peveto-Fontenot, 58, of Lake Charles passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2021 in a local hospital.

Ms. Fontenot was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles.  A 1980 graduate of Barbe High School, she worked most of her life in retail sales, currently for Target.  She was an avid outdoorsman, crabbing, fishing, sun and fun on the beach and gardening with her mother.  Christmas Eve had come to be her favorite day as she joined her daughters and their children for a day of Christmas in pajamas.  Her grandchildren were her world, consuming every bit of love and joy in every new moment and every new memory they shared.  Ms. Fontenot will be most remembered for always being there to help others, a “mighty little firecracker” with a kind, loving and generous soul.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Candace Elizabeth Brady (Chad) and Christine Peveto Ryder, both of Moss Bluff; her little angels, five grandchildren, Lilly Brady, Isabella Seago, Maci Seago, Mason Ryder and Owen Ryder, all of Moss Bluff; her mother, Diane Mary Fontenot of Lake Charles; six siblings, Michael Fontenot (Sharise) of Jacksonville, FL, Christine Fontenot (Keith of lake Charles, Mark Fontenot (Laurie) of Lafayette, Dennis Fontenot (Laura) of Austin, TX, Denine Moody (Bill) of Houston, TX and Beth Fontenot Self (Robby) of Lake Charles; many nieces and nephews and her fiancé, Jesse Wamboldt of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Hebert Fontenot and former husband and father of her daughters, Edmon A. Peveto.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  Reverend Marcus Wade will officiate.  Visitation Saturday will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.  A Rosary service will begin at 11:00 AM.

Ronda’s family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital ICU for their excellence in care and kindness.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/give/memorials-and-dedications or Shriners Hospitals for Children at lovetotherescue.org/memorial-gifts.
