Rosa Mae Stokeld

Mrs. Rosa Mae Stokeld, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 with her family by her side. She was a native of New Iberia and a resident of Lake Charles. Her Family was her joy and they meant the most to her. She also enjoyed cooking and making people eat.

Mrs. Stokeld is survived by her husband of 61 years, LeRoy "Sonny" Stokeld; three children, Wayne "Danny" Stokeld, David Stokeld and wife Margaret Daigre Stokeld, Linda Stokeld Christian and husband Byron all of Lake Charles; two grandchildren, Chad Christian of Houston and Amanda Christian of Lake Charles; one brother, Roland Pesson of Ragley; 3 grand dogs and 2 grand cats; countless number of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Olivia and Dennis Pesson; three siblings, Ruby Pesson McDonnell Veillon, Roy Pesson, and Rena Pesson Gastinnel.

Funeral service will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10:00AM in Johnson Funeral Home. Father Bill Miller and Deacon Dan Landry will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
