Rose Jane (Prather) Moore was born in Jennings, Louisiana on November 1, 1930. She was a proud Bulldog graduate of Jennings High School and worked at Rosebud’s Gift Shop until her marriage to Carroll Moore on April 22, 1955. After living with her family in Jennings and Lafayette, she then moved to Sulphur, LA in 1969, where she resided until she went to be with our Lord on January 20, 2016. She was a member of the Maplewood Church of Christ for 46 years. Rose Jane had a beautiful voice, and loved to sing. She was an excellent seamstress, a fantastic cook and loved spending time with her family and her church.
Rose Jane is survived by her husband, of 60 years, Carroll Moore of Sulphur; 2 sons, Robert Moore of Katy, TX and Donald Moore and wife Lorre of Baytown, TX; her daughter, Melanie Bennett and husband Hiram of Sulphur; 6 grand-daughters; 4 great-grandchildren; her sister, Carrie Cloud of Jennings; her brother, Jessie Prather of Abbeville. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Cornelia Cotton and her father Joseph Prather.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 1 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with minister Brian Spicer officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 11A.M. until time of the service. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
