Rose Marie "Rosie" Breda

Rose Marie “Rosie” Breda, 88, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:49 AM on Friday, November 16, 2018 in a Houston hospital.

Mrs. Breda was born in Providence, RI and moved to Port Arthur, TX at the age of four. She was a graduate of Vidor High School and moved to Lake Charles in 1960. Mrs. Breda held many positions as a secretary including working for the Calcasieu Parish School Board.

She was very active in the Senior Friends Group at Women and Children’s Hospital and she also participated in Bean Bag Baseball for the Senior Olympics. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and gardening.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, John Breda (Sara) of Moss Bluff; a daughter, Judy Parks (Bill) of Houston; six grandchildren, Heather Beard, Lauren Benson, Kasey Parks, Evan Parks, Janet Hardy, and Jonathon Breda; and six great grandchildren, Eli, Connor, Harper, Myles, Jett, and Jax.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Olive Fuss; husband, Henry Breda; and five siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 23, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Marcus Wade will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin on Friday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
