Rose V. Carter

Rose Vincent Carter, 96, of Grand Chenier, LA, died at 4:45 AM on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Carter was born in Gueydan, LA on October 21, 1919 and lived all of her life in Grand Chenier, LA. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole, LA and was a member of the Grand Chenier Home Demonstration club. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed making her weekly trips to the beauty shop. She was loved and will be missed dearly.

Mrs. Carter is survived by her children, Freddie Theriot and wife Dot, Sue Theriot and husband Frank, Mary Lee Theriot, Glenn Theriot, Jerome Carter and wife Tracy, and Neil Carter; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cleveland “Snook” Theriot; second husband, Brandon Carter; parents, David and Clementine Vincent; grandchild, Lewis Theriot; great-great-grandchild, Payne Marceaux; three brothers; one sister; and daughter-in-law, Dorothy Carter.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Vincent Vdakkedath will officiate. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Grand Chenier. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
