Roy Dennis Pesson, 86, of Longville died Monday, October 18, 2010 in Jackson, LA.
Mr. Pesson was born September 2, 1924 in New Iberia, LA to Dennis and Olivia Comeaux Pesson. He was raised and educated in New Iberia and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He served the United States Navy during World War II.
Mr. Pesson was formerly the Lake Charles City Plumbing Inspector and along with his wife, Gloria was founder and co-owner of Pesson Plumbing. He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 106 and the American Legion. Mr. Pesson retired from the Plumbing Industry early to raise Cattle and was a member of the Beauregard Cattleman's Association. He was also a member of several dance groups, as he always loved to dance.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 66 years, Gloria Justus Pesson of Longville; two sons, Richard D. Pesson and wife Carolyn of Toledo Bend and Terry Pesson of Denham Springs and fiance', Antonia Bennett of Lake Charles; seven grandchildren, Juanell Faulk, Russell Pesson, Roy Pesson, Terri Jean Stalling, Traci Precht, Jasen Pesson and Chandra Lamonte; sixteen great- grandchildren; four great- great grandchildren; one brother, Roland Pesson of Ragley and one sister, Rosa Stokeld of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Rena Gastinel and Ruby McDonald Veillion.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 21, 2010 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon George Stearns will officiate. Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday will be from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue Thursday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
