Ruby Courts Aucoin

Mrs. Ruby Courts Aucoin, age 75, passed Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at a local hospital.

Born August 27, 1935, in Church Point, she had been a resident of Lake Charles since 1952. Mrs. Ruby worked as a school crossing guard for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, as well as helping out planning events for the sheriff's office. She often attended church at Christ the King Catholic Church and St. Margaret's Catholic Church in the past. Mrs. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will forever be loved and remembered by her family. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Sidney Allen Courts, and her second husband, Irving Aucoin.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Ray Courts, Sr. and wife, Dale of Lake Charles, Kenneth James Courts of Lake Charles, and Billy Gene Courts of Bossier City; one daughter, Cora Aguillard and husband, Dale of Dallas, TX; one sister, Wilma Bergeron of China, TX; eight grandchildren, Christy Sellers and husband, Brett, and their son, Caden, Charles "Bubba" Courts and wife, Katie, and their daughter, McKenzie, Kyle James Courts, Jessica Lynn Courts, Ann Margaret Schirmer, Danielle Marie Aguillard and fiance', Jory Walker, Cortney Aguillard Haren and husband, Bradley, and April Michelle Aguillard and son, Cayden.

Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010, at Johnson Funeral Home. Deacon Ray Granger will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 11, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., and again on Sunday, September 12, from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday evening.
